An Axis Deer is a species of deer that is found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Axis Deer are reddish-brown, with white spots on their backs. They have a white underside, and a black stripe that runs along the length of their bodies. Axis Deer are a medium-sized deer, measuring between 90 and 130 cm at the shoulder. They weigh between 50 and 100 kg. Axis Deer are considered to be one of the most beautiful deer in the world, and are popular for hunting.
Axis Deer are generally shy animals, but can be aggressive when threatened. They live in forested areas, where they eat leaves, fruits, and grasses. Axis Deer can also swim well, and often cross rivers to reach new areas.
