One of the most accessible 4,000-meter summits in the Atlas Mountains of North Africa is Mount Toubkal in Morocco. It's located near glamorous Marrakech, which makes climbing it a convenient choice for anyone vacationing there. The mountain itself has two peaks: one is an imposing sheer wall called Jbel Toubkal, while the other is gentler with a plateau at its top. You can hike up either side.

If you have more time to devote to your Moroccan mountain climbing expedition and want a moderately challenging first experience at altitude , consider scaling Jebel Toubkal itself. There are a couple different routes up this nearly vertical face that offer varying degrees of difficulty and duration .

With its snow-capped peaks and stunning landscape, Mount Toubkal is definitely worth exploring. So if you're looking for an exciting new adventure, be sure to add Mount Toubkal to your list!
