A Ringtail is a small omnivorous mammal found throughout North America. It has distinctive colouring and rings on tail which resemble eyes, thus giving them their name. They are indeed related to raccoons as both species belong to the family Procyonidae.

The ringtail is a small animal about the size of a house cat with a long bushy tail which has distinctive rings on it, giving it its name. It typically weighs between two and four pounds, but some can get up to seven or eight pounds. Their fur colour varies between grayish-black and grayish-brown with yellowish underparts. The tip of their tail exhibits a dark band which appears dark at night.
