Dartmoor National Park is the largest open space in southern England, and has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The park covers 1,771 square kilometres (686 sq mi) so there is plenty to explore. Dartmoor is home to herds of deer, red squirrels and buzzards; it also boasts numerous walks for those who enjoy hiking or cycling through the countryside.
