A Prairie Rattlesnake is grey in colour with dark blotches along their back. Prairie Rattlesnakes grow to be about 3 feet long and can weigh up to 2 pounds. Their diet consists mostly of small mammals, such as rodents, but they will also eat lizards, birds, and other snakes. Prairie Rattlesnakes live in open prairies and grasslands, as well as in agricultural areas. They are not commonly seen by humans, but they can be dangerous if threatened.
Prairie Rattlesnakes are one of the most common snakes found in North America.
