The Eastern Brown Snake is a venomous snake that is found in eastern and southern Australia. They are a medium sized snake, typically growing to between 1 and 1.5 metres in length.
The Eastern Brown Snake is an active hunter and mainly feeds on rodents, frogs and lizards. They will also eat other snakes, including venomous ones.
Eastern Brown Snakes are shy but territorial animals. If disturbed, they will usually try to escape, but if threatened they will stand their ground and may even strike out at the danger. However, their venom is not particularly potent and bites are not usually fatal unless the victim is very young or elderly.
