Oregon's Pacific coastline is a wild and beautiful place, well known for its rugged cliffs, stunning ocean views, and lush rain forests. Amid all this natural majesty grows a surprising sight: Pacific Rhododendron (Coast Rhododendron).
This hardy shrub can be found clinging to steep sea cliffs and rocky shores, where it forms a striking contrast against the pounding surf and dark green forest backdrop.
While not the most showy of plants, Coast Rhododendron is nonetheless an interesting and distinctive part of Oregon's coastal landscape.
If you're lucky enough to visit during the right time of year, you can catch glimpses of its clusters of delicate pink flowers peek out from amongst the greenery.
