Koli national park is home to over 300 wild reindeer, as well as the only brown bears in Finland.
The forest and waterways provide valuable habitat for a range of mammals such as: moose, raccoon dog, wolf and foxes-- not to mention the plentiful bird population!
Koli national park has an incredibly rich history with the land. The location is considered sacred by the original Sami people. Similarly, there are many stories that depict Koli as a popular meeting place for hunters and reindeer herders in the winter months.
The park is filled with adventure possibilities: hiking, swimming and canoing or kayaking during the summer and skiing and snowmobiling during the winter months.
