A Svalbard reindeer is a type of deer that is found in the Svalbard archipelago. They are also known as polar reindeer, and are distinguishable from other types of reindeer by their light-coloured coats.
These deer are well adapted to the cold climate of the Arctic, and have specially adapted hooves that help them move across the snow and ice.
Svalbard reindeer are preyed upon by arctic wolves, so they are often quite wary of humans. However, they can also be quite friendly and may approach people who are willing to give them food.
