The Fennec fox is an elusive creature found only in North Africa. They live in sandy deserts with sparse vegetation where they spend most of their time searching for food at night, when it's cool enough for them to go out without overheating. The fox has big ears which help regulate its body temperature by radiating heat away from their bodies or sucking up warmth during colder periods.
Fennec foxes are a species of small canids resembling cats, but with large ears. In the wild, they inhabit dry regions from Africa to Asia. Due to their soft fur and thick coat of ear-hair, these animals have been used for thousands of years to keep humans warm during cold weathers.
