If you're looking for an awe-inspiring travel destination that's off the beaten path, look no further than Ha Long Bay or "descending dragon". This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to thouands of limestone islands and karsts that rise out of the emerald waters of the bay. The shoreline is dotted with caves and grottos.

This beautiful man-made wonder was formed over 20 million years ago when the immense tectonic pressure caused parts of the earth's crust to buckle.

There are three main regions inside Ha Long Bay:

- Cat Ba Island is where most travelers spend their time because it offers access to a greater number of sites.

- Bai Tu Long is a newer destination for travelers and is gaining popularity as it offers more untouched natural landscapes that you can enjoy by taking kayaks or boats out on the water.

- Haiphong city, on the other hand, is further away from both Cat Ba Town and Bai Tu Long but for those who love to shop, they will find an enormous mall full of Vietnamese goods at surprisingly affordable prices!Whether you're a seasoned traveller or just starting to explore the world, Ha Long Bay is a must-see destination.
